Hi friends...

I am presently using Knoppix Live CD... But i want to install linux on my system...

My system is quite old: My sys specifications are

Intel Celeron Processor
534 Mhz, 128 mb ram

I am using linux for programming. I want to program device drivers on that..
In knoppix i cannot do device driver programming...

Which distro i should use? Debian, Suse, or other. I want linux for programming only.... I don't want any applications (or few like pdf reader etc.)

Plz help...

You really need to experiment a bit and try a few different distributions to see what works best for you, and for your hardware. In the end, it's only you that can decide which distribution you should use.

Take a serious look at the link in my signature for lots of good information on getting started with Linux, and don't hesitate to post new threads with any other questions.

Since you don't need so many programs, i would recommend a distro, which is quite small. It depends further on wether you require an easy install, or if you would pay some attention to it. For the latter you could take Debian, Arch, Gentoo (well, that's somewhat more work-intensive ) or any other lightweight distro. Distros like Suse are perhaps too oversized for your computer and your 'profile'.
You should consider using solely an window manager (like fvwm, fluxbox...) and not a desktop environment like Gnome or KDE, because your computer is a bit older.
