Hi,
This is my first post

...
I'm new to linux and am trying to get closer to it. I recently installed Fedora 8 ( dual booting with Vista) and bought some books.
My home network setup has an adsl router/wireless access point/switch (SMC Barricade). At the moment i'm allowing access to the net for a couple of people. They use it for browsing/email and gaming. I would like to install a linux firewall/proxy or what ever is needed to allow me to get stats on bandwidth usage per
user so that I can charge them accordingly. I already have an oldish pc (about 4 years, 80GB hdd, intel cpu, 256mb RAM) with 2 NIC's which I'm planning on installing.
I did some googling today and there doesn't seem to be an easy install-and-go solution, but surely there must be! I also read about traffic shaping, which sounds cool but is not what I need right now.
Can anybody shine some light? Apologies if missed an obvious link or if this is not the right place to post...
