Pendrive Ubuntu 7.10 shared folder

I am currently running Ubuntu 7.10 (Run Ubuntu 7.10 from Windows without rebooting | USB Pen Drive Linux) off my 8gb flash drive using qemu run inside of windows. Everything works fine, except I cannot mount any disk besides my cd drive and Ubuntu's made up drive in the image file. I was wondering if I could make a shared folder that could be accessible between my Windows XP computer and my Ubuntu. This was already done in Ubuntu 8.04.1 with a shared folder (Qemu Ubuntu 8.04.1 with a shared folder | USB Pen Drive Linux) but that was not persistent, so none of my preferences were saved. Either if I could make a shared folder for Ubuntu 7.10 or if I could make Ubuntu 8.04.1 persistent. Does anyone know how to do either of these things?
