Have you tried other alternatives, such as not running cdrecord two times, or burning data CDs or so?

Yes, you have to burn as an audio CD for normal players to read it. I was just wondering if you can burn data CDs correctly.

Have you tried several CD players? Far from all can handle CD-Rs.

How are you trying to listen/read the audio cd ?

You cant mount it like a normal iso9660 data cd.
Try this program, I havent used it but it might help you.

I normally use xmms to listen to audio cds I have burnt.
