connection refused

I was trying to connect to the local host but it said that the connection was refused.

Ive never had this problem before does anybody know what might be going on.

just the apache website

protocol 901 for swat for samba

also my apache webserver doesnt seem to be responzive

Do you have iptables enabled?? And are you using https://localhost:901 to talk to webmin, not http:// right??

thanx for the tip

thanx for telling me https and not http but now it just hangs there and does nothing

and also i have my apache server running but it wont let me connect to the localhost it connection refused

is something that i have to turn on that i havent turned yet or something

Are you sure apache is running? In that case, check "netstat -antp | grep httpd" to check what ports it's listening to.

It means that apache isn't listening to anything. Are you sure that it's actually running?

ps -efl |grep http
To see if you webserver is up and running, if you dont se any processes there, start your webbserver with /etc/init.d/httpd start and try again.

check /etc/hosts.deny , u might have blocked the local conenctions to the local http server or the samba server or u've blocked all the connections in once (ALL:ALL) .
however checking this file would be a good thing to try if things got unworkable.
