    Creating a symlink?

I'm trying to figure out how to create a symlink from /root/www to /var/www/htdocs because I want to be able to upload via ftp directly to my httpd directory.

    In directory /var/www

    ln -s /root/www htdocs

this will create a symbolic link

To create a symlink you use the ln command. Are you sure you want to link to something in root's directory? It's not a good idea to log in as root for anything other than maintenance.

It's a SLAX live linux cd. I'm not worried about it. It's for inside my own network only, and can't be accessed outside it.

    Thanks. I'll try it.

Edit: I am unable to try and see if it works because ftp doesn't work properly.
