Java/Eclipse Report Engine

Hello,
I will be writing a simple database app for some clients in a few months. The database is very simple, however I have to have great forms and reports. I found a great wysiwyg form builder for Eclipse, but I need a good report builder. So far I have found BIRT and Crystal Reports. Both look like they're free. However the info on the licensing, especially Crystal Reports for Eclipse is sketchy. I also found Jasper Reports and Jasper Assistant.

Does anyone have advice on this? Here's a summary of my needs. I am programming using Eclipse on Fedora 8. I have built commercial apps in C++, but I am using this project as an excuse to learn java. So a wysiwyg and ease of use report builder is important. The app will be on a desktop, which means probably Windose. Also, I would also like to run the app on a server for web access, so it would be nice if the report engine could also produce web based reports besides PDFs. I am willing to pay money for the engine, but way under $500. This app is pathetically simple, however the reports have to be sharp. Yep, pure eye candy. Also, let me know about licensing. Thanks for your help.
