Since in Perl RegEx and by quickly poking in the Manual of sed I noticed that s is replace in RegEx. ! is the seperator. Thus s -> Replace ! -> seperator / -> To Replace ! -> seperator <Nothing> -> Replace With !-> seperator However this is a really aimed guess you should read sed manuals to be 100% sure.
