File comparison software

Can anyone suggest some file comparison software for Linux that allows a user to graphically compare two files (mainly source code files) by highlighting the differences (something like Araxis Merge).

Thanks

A command called kompare may be what you want but I
have no experience using it.
Try also vim -d file1 file2
Or you can open xemacs , click on Tools and then Compare
There probably are other programmes too.

I would suggest vim editor in something called 'diff-mode'. You simply type
Code:
gvimdiff file1.txt file2.txt
The above works under graphical environment. If you prefer working under console try vimdiff instead.
