minicom

Hi everybody,

Can anybody tell me, What is "minicom" and how it is usefull to access the external device

Pls suggest me a way , where i could get a best material to learn

minicom is like a hyperterminal in windows.
it is usefull in such a way that we can test the device whether it is communicating or not.
