Boot up from any LiveCD and mount / ( /boot, if you have one ). Open boot/grub/menu.lst ( or grub.conf ) file and put # sign before 'password --md5 <password-hash>' line.
Save file and reboot machine. GRUB wont prompt for password.Code:#password --md5 <password-hash>
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

Reset GRUB Password
- Login the system as a root user
- open the terminal and just type the command grub-md5-crypt
- After above command it will ask to enter the password, type the password twice.
- After reset the password it will give a MD5 HASH password which would look like this <$1$qGzS//$7hrAbB24WKdROVdYyUNVM0>
- now edit the grub file and add the password in grub file (Located at /boot/grub/grub.conf) like below mentioned.
password --md5 $1$qGzS//$7hrAbB24WKdROVdYyUNVM0
You are Done!
