a question on linux file access permissions

Will my root partition all accessible if I boot the pc with a live linux dist?

You have to mount root partition using mount command.

So it wont be locked folder outside my current linux installation right?
I would try and see what happens but my cd driver is broken ,so I'm asking you.

Its easy to mount any partition through LiveCD and you will have full access to that partition.
Btw, why do you want to mount / partition? Have you forget root password or what?

I think he's just asking how secure the file system is.

You can access (almost) anything with a linux livecd. If you want to forbid the access to the contents of a given partition you should be looking into encryption. In linux it can be implemented at filesystem level, so you don't need to go encrypting and decrypting files all around.
