ip scanning

what progs are good for ip scanning? and also i have a winmodem is there any way to get it working? thanx for the help

chances are you will not get the winmodem working....well at leased not easily. why not just go out and get a new one? how much are they now? like 20$ at most?

I don't know about IP scanning, but nmap is good for port scanning. Why would you want to IP scan? Your ISP will probably not like it anyway.

You can try nessus that can scan and check specific subnets or ip-ranges..

Nmap is the king.
Check its man page, it has many many usefull features.
