guidelines for posting Images
please do not post full resolution screenshots because they play havoc with the forum borders. Instead, post the urls to your screenshots, or post thumbnails of them.
Finding image hosting sites
If you don't have your own upload storage space you can post urls or thumbnails using one of the free
image hosting services. You should use the
"thumbnail for forums (1)" link code that is supplied to post your screenshots here. Keep in mind, there may be better way to do this and this is in no way a complete guide for uploading Images.
I'm going to give a short lesson for both Imageshack and Photobucket as these are the most common image hosting websites and they are both free. Begin by going to
ImageShack® - Image Hosting or
Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket and sign up for a new account. Once you get that settled let's upload some images.
Uploading your Images to Imageshack
After you login to imageshack, On the right side of your screen is a box titled "Actions", from this box you need to select "Upload Image", now you are presented with a new window that looks like this
From the above photo, you need to click on the "Browse" button which will open up your file browser for you to browse to the files that you want to upload. So go ahead and browse to the file to be uploaded, click on it and select the "Open" button. Now your file manager will close which will bring you back to the "Browse for files" window, now you can add tags or resize the files before proceeding but it is not really needed. Next you click on the "Upload" button and your file should begin uploading to imageshack. When that is done, you'll be returned to your profile at imageshack with thumbnails for all your uploaded images. While you are looking at your images, go ahead and select the image you want to upload and then select "Get forum code" from the actions box, now right click and copy that code.
Uploading your images to Photobucket
Upon login into Photobucket, you'll see a screen similar to this, which should be very intuitive and it's to use.

In the above image, you would click on the "Upload images and Video" button, which will open your file browser for you to browse to the files that you want to upload. So go ahead and browse to the file to be uploaded, click on it and select the "Open" button. Now your file manager will close which will bring you back to Photobucket, where you will be presented with a screen that looks like this, for you to add tags and filenames for your images.

After you add tags and filenames, click on the "Return to Albums" button and you'll see all of your images. If you hover your mouse over the image that you want to upload it will present you with a popup box containing the code you need to paste here. Select the image code and right click on it, select copy.
Adding the images to your post.
Now when you create a post at Linuxforums, after you have uploaded your images to Imageshack or Photobucket here is what you need to do. Create your post as usual and just paste the forum code of the image you want uploaded into your post, you have now uploaded some images, congrats!
