i do not undstand what is going on i heard to install half life 2 i have to get cedega 4.2 is that true or what do i do.

Nice manual. A few remarks.
Installing from source :
Don't know if every distribution supports it but you could use tar for unpacking bz2 compressed files as well.
Code:
 tar -jxvf
Slackware section:
I miss upgradepkg for upgrading packages. If needed you can specify the option --reinstall for forced (re)installation of the package.
