Nice manual. A few remarks.
Installing from source :
Don't know if every distribution supports it but you could use tar for unpacking bz2 compressed files as well.
Slackware section:Code:tar -jxvf
I miss upgradepkg for upgrading packages. If needed you can specify the option --reinstall for forced (re)installation of the package.
