How to configure a RTL8029(AS) for cable modem settings

Hi,

i have some trouble with my internet connection. I'm working with a cable modem, and it means that my ethernet card must be set up in half_duplex mode 10baseT. The "module configuration" of my ethernet card in harddrake has three options, but i don't know how to fill them... DEBUG, OPTIONS and FULL_DUPLEX are the three options.

So i've tried using the commandline, but mii-tool does not work

[root@cable-62-205-116-61 felix]# mii-tool
SIOCGMIIPHY on 'eth0' failed: Operation not supported
no MII interfaces found

and i don't realy understand how to use ifcfg to do this.

So i had a "emacslook" in /etc/modules.conf, but it was the same : what should i write in there to set up my eth0 in half_duplex 10baseT.

Any help will be welcome (graphic hints, commandline tricks, emacs goodies,...)

Oh, and here is my ifconfig

[root@cable-62-205-116-61 felix]# ifconfig

This is weird, realy.

I've decided to test an other ethernet card, so i open up my computer, and i discover that my ethernet card wasn't a RTL8029(AS), but a D-link de-528.... Anyway, i've replaced it with a planet enx-8300 and reboot. MDK10 discovered new hardware : a RTL8029(AS) and told me that he couldn't load the ne2k-pci module.

What about that! Maybe my MDK10 is addicted to RTL8029(AS). Or is RTL8029(AS) the default choice of MDK10 when he (or she?) don't recognize the ethernet card model?

Maybe i should try with a real RTL8029(AS)....
