problems with urpmi

I have a Mandrake 10.0 dist I recently put on my comp (I'm new to Linux)..... but it doesn't seem to come with urpmi, it simply says the command does not exist. I've tried the easy urpmi page, but it says it cannot cd to pub, and it says this over and over and over again until I have to shut down the terminal. If it's a connection issue, I obviously have the internet, or else I wouldn't be talking on this... but I have a DSL modem instead of a 56K or Cable. does this mean I have to do something different in order to get urpmi for Mandrake?

Are you running the urpmi command as user or root? It needs to be done as root as urpmi may not be in a user's path
