I want to play Sauerbraten

...but it crashes KDE in Mandriva 2008 Spring. I don't understand why. It starts to load the program, the splash screen is shown and after that there's a black screen, and the login.
I have AtiRadeon 9200SE card and the Sauerbraten Assassin Edition. The Summer edition worked with Mandriva 2007, but now it hangs. Any ideas?

Is your 3D set up correctly? What framerate do you get from glxgears? Post the output of
Code:
glxinfo |grep direct
grep -i driver /etc/X11/xorg.conf

For the first code:
direct rendering: Yes

For the second code:
Driver "kbd"
Driver "mouse"
Driver "ati"

glxgears test:
5580 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1115.999 FPS
6153 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1230.503 FPS
6086 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1217.163 FPS
6289 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1257.607 FPS
6144 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1228.718 FPS
6141 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1228.029 FPS
6070 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1213.846 FPS
6280 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1255.983 FPS

It seems everything to be O.K to me. I think the problem is rather bound to SDL libraries. For example, I can play Nexuiz in GLX mode but have the same crash with SDL mode, as well as with Tremulous which is an SDL dedicated game. What do you think?

I'm not really sure in that case, but it does sound reasonable that you may need some SDL libraries installed. Have you tried installing some from the repositories? Sorry I can't be more specific, I don't run many SDL apps and don't have a Mandriva install to hand.

EDIT - Moving to Mandriva section
