boot from cd

how do i boot from cd.i downloaded mirava and burned it to cd using cdburnerxp but when i boot from cd hp recovery console apears and takes me to command line

Check this HowTo for making sure you properly download the ISO image file, and burn it to CD. It also covers how to properly boot from the disk:

jfeeley,

I don't know cdburnerxp myself but did you write the iso image to disk as a plain file or did you "extract" it to disk. The difference being that if you only wrote the iso file the disk can't boot as it doesn't have the necessary files to do so. You need to write the iso image to disk so that it extracts all files to disk as it is being written.
