email and Google
I was wondering if there is an email program that can set on the desktop and check your email on say google free email or other free email sites? Bower

Evolution is a pretty good desktop app that does just that. You would have to find out the proper mail servers for the specific email you are trying to access, though.

use googlemails imap server.#

Any decent email client should be able to do that. Kmail, Thunderbird, Evolution, Zimbra Desktop etc.
