Mandriva 2009 lockup - Dell GX 280

I've got Mandriva 2009 powerpack being installed on a Dell GX 280 desktop computer.

I get just past the hard drive partitioning of the installation and the install freezes. I've still got mouse movement, but other than that basically a blank screen.

I'm not skilled enough to figure out where to start looking at diagnosing the problem . Any ideas on what I should be looking at?

I'm suspicious of the video card (i.e. maybe Mandriva doesn't have working drivers?) but I'm not sure how to diagnose or fix that.

Try install using text mode, I believe you need to press F1 during the boot sequence to bring up other options, including text mode.
