log in as root

i need to know how to log in as root through the gui not the konsole

yes i know it makes me at risk for attacks
but in order for me to change permissions on drives and certain files and to create files i need to log in as root

You should be able to use kdesu to utilize GUI apps like kwrite and konqueror without having to log into the root account.

Try going to a konsole and issuing the following commands:

kdesu konqueror

kdesu kwrite

You'll be asked for the root password before the app starts, but then you can do all your permissions and file changes as root from the GUI, but from within your user account.
