Installation lock up
Hi,
I'm quite new to linux and as you can see I'm running SuSE/XP dual boot at the time. This past weekend I got hold of Mandrake 10. I tried to install it, but it locked up each time. Lock ups did not occur at the same stage each time but at various points in the process.
I'm on a AMD Athlon XP 2000+, 512Mb Ram, 40Gb(50/50 split for SuSE/XP) + 6.4Gb HD, Soltek SL-75FRN MB, Conexant Modem, Realtek Lan, ATI Radeon 7500 Graphics.
Is the problem hardware or software related. CD's check out OK.
Help would be very welcome.

Are you shure that it is locking and not just hanging for a long time?.....

Definite lock up. Problem occured Saturday at 11:00, thought it was slow, watched the game. Two hours later still nothing, mouse, keyboard and CD all locked. Had to reset.
I also thought that it might be the HD, but I checked that yesterday. Fedora and Win 98 runs on it.
