Converting a dual boot system back to a Windows only system
Does anyone know how to get rid of the blue start up screen that gives you a choice between Linux, safe mode, and Windows on a dual boot system? I am trying to convert a dual boot system back to Window XP only. I have used partition magic to remove the Mandriva partitions but I still get the blue start page that gives you the choices of either Windows or Linux. I know you are wondering why I would get rid of Linux instead of Windows, but I have another machine that is strictly Linux and I want this machine to be Windows only
Thanks for any help.

TO REMOVE GRUB:
boot with a Windows emergency boot disk and run: fdisk /mbr
...or
Boot with the Windows XP installation CD and from the recovery console type: fixmbr
Doing either one should rewrite the MBR allowing you to reboot directly into Windows.
If neither of those options are available to you, try using SuperGrub:
Super Grub Disk Webpage: Download
It's a good tool for working with Linux, or Windows boot issues.oz
