Wireless Connection Problem
I have Mandriva 2007 Spring Free with AMD 64 (Turion) and with Broadcom wireless network card. I have installed bcmwl5.inf from Windows partition via MCC and also installed ndiswrapper that comes with the installation DVD. I have even checked from Konsole by typing <ndiswrapper -l> that it shows the follwing message
Installed drivers:
bcmwl5 driver installed, hardware present
But, when I am trying to set up wireless connection it says to interface found. I have no clue how to fix this problem.
Please help to sort this out.
Thanks,
Sandip.

type into the Konsole as root:
iwconfig
and see if your wireless card is present. There must be something like wlan0 or ath0 depending on the chipsets.
Then try:
iwconfig wlan0 essid yourprovidername
after that try:
dhclientIf you need a CD/DVD catalogizer, give a try to my program:

Thanks for prompt reply ...
After typing iwconfig at Konsole I get the following message
lo no wireless extensions.
sit0 no wireless extensions.
eth0 no wireless extensions.
May be something wrong with driver installation in Linux. Because from Windows it is working fine. What do you suggest anyway?

Read this one!
Download this:
http://www.silfreed.net/download/hpz...P23107A.tar.gz
Extract it somewhere:e.g. /home/yourusername/SP23107A
Open Konsole as root and type:
ndiswrapper -e bcmwl5
Then:
ndiswrapper -i /home/yourusername/SP23107/bcmwl5.inf
Again:
modprobe ndiswrapper
Tell me if it works! If you need a CD/DVD catalogizer, give a try to my program:

I have tried and am facing the same problem. iwconfig reports the same thing again.
I am writing the exact error message what I am getting from MCC while trying to configure wireless network after installing the driver as you mentioned--
"unable to find network interface for selected device (using bcm43xx driver)"
The details of Broadcam card is Broadcom Corporation|Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN Mini-PCI Card.
If you need any further information please let me know.
