What software are you using? Kaffiene? Is there an option to scan a particular range of frequencies?

v4l stands for Video for Linux. I believe it's the driver that needs to be installed. and is available from Main Page - V4LWiki
I've not been able to get a video card to work yet, but I believe that's because of a DOA video card and I'm currently waiting for a replacement.Linux User #453176
