My Mandriva goes to Kernel panic on IDE change
I installed Mandriva and changed the IDE from Secondary Master to Primary Master and it goes to Kernel Panic - Not Syncing. Attempting to kill init.
Why is it so?? That does not happen to MS Windows installations as it runs very well which ever IDE interface you move it to.
Is there any solution for this in Linux?!?!

Hello - which boot loader are you using? Lilo or GRUB? I think that if you've swapped the drive around the boot loader will still be configured to find your kernel in the same location... So, it's looking for a working kernel and can't find it.
There's a good GRUB tutorial on these Forums, and that should help to get you up and running.I am always doing that which I can not do, in order that I may learn how to do it. - Pablo Picasso
