File copy troubles-USB
Hi,
I'm facing a weird problem: I must carry a huge amount of .DEB packages to my working place, but I have to do it with USB. The pendrive is almost empty, but I'm getting error unable to write to /media/disk/somefile.deb.
I've tried to change the chmod for files both on the source (hda5) and the destination (disk).
I've tried to solve this using Krusader, but no solution. I've tried different USB-drives with same result.
What's wrong? If you need a CD/DVD catalogizer, give a try to my program:

Wrong!!!
I've checked. It mounts rw by default. It starts to copy the files but after cca. 60MB hangs with error message. USB is an old illness of Linux.

When you deleted previous items from it did you empty your trashbin? If you show hidden files on the device you may see a .trash with previously deleted files that are still using up space.

Yes. Basically I don't even use the Trash Bin. I allways use Shift+Del. When I check the Properties of the /dev/sda1 I'm getting 27% of used space. I've tried to copy those files directly from DVD to USB but the result was the same. (I don't have DVD-ROM in my classrom's PC). What could be wrong?

Well, I've done something, and partially solved the situation: I've created a new folder on the USB and placed all the files INSIDE. It let me copy the files. What lies behind?
Why can't I copy all to the root of the USB ?If you need a CD/DVD catalogizer, give a try to my program:
