Ok i couldnt get Mandriva to install, but what u can do, right click the start menu and select KDE Menu Editor, the select a program u want, down below u will see a small rectangular icon that says 'current shortcut key', if u click on it, i will pop up some other window, the just set yo key starting with the win key. (i set my pidgin with this set, winkey + P) try that too.

    Cheers

i did try out this, as u had recommended. But there is no popup window when we click on
that shortcut button. It gets pressed but no pop up window where u can punch ina keyboard key.
