    learning me plz

    this is the first time i use linux system its not easy and not hard but many things stopped me like :
    what is the (ROOT) that all program operate from it and how can i open it ?
    i was used XP but now Linux when i installed linux the file on my drive D named (Lost+found) and it not work what can i do with it ?

    As for what the root account is, here's a definition that describes it pretty well:

    What is root? -- definition by The Linux Information Project (LINFO)

    You can get to the root account by going to a terminal or console (look for it in your menu) and entering the command:

    su

    ...enter your root password when requested. Be very careful when fooling around with your system while you have root permissions.

    I'm not sure what you are asking with the second question so will leave that to someone else.
