Mandriva 10.1 Install problem
Im trying to install Mandriva 10.1 64bit. I go through the install on a BLANK, freshly formatted IDE hard drive. I am not getting in errors and find no troubles installing. But when I restart and get to the loading screen, it freezes at loading screen. When I put the CD in and get to the troubleshooting console it tells me there is a Kernel panic error. I've reinstalled and reformatted numerous times and even disconnected all my internal harddrives. At this point I just want to smash my face into the keyboard.
My computer specs are (and don't laugh)
AMD Ahtlon 64 x2 Dual Core 5200+ 2.6ghz
PNY 2gb x 4 RAM (8gb total)
GeForce 7600 GS x2 in SLI
ASUS m2n32 SLI Deluxe WiFi
As we speak I am downloading the newest livecd-AMD64(installer) cd from mandriva website in hopes this will cure my problem. But I would like to get 10.1 to work before I waste time trying another. Anyone help would be kindly appreciated.
Thank You

For that type of hardware, I suggest you give Mandriva 2008 a try. I don't think Mandrake/Mandriva 10.x is still a supported product, so its best yo use something thats still being updated and supported.
