    Dumb question: Mandrake 10 file system?


    Before I screw around with Partition Magic, does Mandrake 10 use EXT2 or EXT3? Thanks.

    either one, or xfs or reiserfs. for a primary filesystem (if those are te honly 2 choices) i would recommend ext3

    Why don't you use the partitoning program which comes with Mandrake?

    Partiton Magic sucks (in this case; not a good thing).

    if you have to oportunity to choose between etx2,ext3 and reises choose reiser fs..it's the best of the three..

    don't say that, 'best' is always relative, if you run a server that will have high thoroughput and will be on a upc, xfs is better, ext3 is a very generic journaled system.
