Installing Mandriva using MS Virtual PC
Well. I am pretty new to Linux and I am trying to explore more on the OS and trying to fall in love with it.
But I am going to try out and play with it using MS Virtual PC.
But the problem is when I install, it goes through the installation it shows login. So I type 'root" and it goes through the next line for root@localhost.
So I type 'startx' and the next screen I would see will be a frozen cursor at the top left.
I am not sure MS VPC supports Linux installation. Does it?
Can I try with VMware?
Anyone with any suggestions? I am eager to learn.

I'm wanting to know more too, but have a different problem. I've done the install started the reboot it almost gets to the end of the boot sequence then drops out. i think alot of it is to do with using a Fujitsu Lifebook and sound card issues as well.
Cheers

Well.. well... Using VMware was a good suggestion and I installed Mandriva without any issues.
So it's not recommended to use MS Vpc.
