SQL database backup and restore.

This is no doubt a simple question but anyway here goes.
I run a server on mandriva 08 with MYSQL database etc.
I use webmin to control my database and it does offer a backup service.
I do backup regularly but was wondering if needed how is the best way to restore a SQL backup.

You know the first thing i was told from a friend who is linux savy when i decided to go the linux way was....
Dont ask for help as linux users dont like to help.
Me thinking he was wrong goined this forum.
Tried to help where i could (maby to no avail).
Asked questions i needed answers to.
Lets face it the forum has the meta "Linux Forums where people come for help"
Well i waited and waited and no reply..
No help from members.
