DSN = 127.0.0.1
Hello,
I have just reinstalled Mandrake 9.2. Once the installation is complete, I have installed and setup the NIC driver then rebooted, I get the following message:
"Cannot look up Internet address for (my mac address). This will prevent Gnome from operating properly. It may be possible to correct the problem by adding (my mac address) to the file /ect/hosts."
I followed the same general steps as I did with the previous installation but this time I believe I have not set up the connection properly. Now it lists my host name as my mac address and the DNS as the loop back address of 127.0.0.1.
If someone knows the solution, or better yet can explain what I am doing wrong as well as the solution, it would be appeciated.
If the solution is changing the hosts file, what line should I add?
Thanks
Chris
