i'm trying to download mandriva 2008 for my athlon64.
on the mandriva.com website, when i try to download, it offers the i586 version.
Where can i find the x86_64 ...

x86_64 download ?

and another thing, what is given in the dvd version and not in the cd version ?

Not sure where to find it. I see on this page that they have the 64bit version of 2008-free, but not 2008-one available. Maybe someone will reply that knows where to find it.

thanks for replying.
i tried to download the dvd version, but it was downloading at 70kb/s!
so i stoped it.
i found this website Mandriva Linux download for Linux - Softpedia
downloading at reseanable speed.
But also i was trying to find 2007 version or 2006 version of mandriva, but i caaaaaaaaaaaaaant! it's frustrating me.

I would suggest you to install 32bit version only even if you have 64bit machine. Check this link.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

Actually, i installed ubuntu, works great.
still I dont understand why the x86_64 version is given as a dvd iso ? no cd isos there ?
and also what's the difference between a dvd version and a cd version ?
