    Installation of GCC (binutils)

    Guys


    After playing around with live CD, if finally installed mandriva 2008. My first endeavor was to install GCC in which I got the following msg:

    [root@localhost ~]# urpmi gcc
    A requested package cannot be installed:
    gcc-4.2.2-3.1mdv2008.0.i586 (due to unsatisfied binutils[>= 2.16.91.0.7-6mdk])
    Continue installation anyway? (Y/n)


    Would like to know how to rectify "binutils"

    Re-did repositories and updated system, now I have gcc, g++.
