Ethernet configuration
Hi guys,
I am new to the world of linux. I have downloaded Linux mandriva spring 2008 edition. Setup seems to be okay but I am finding difficulity with configuring network. While doing that I am getting error .
" unable to find network interface for selected device(using r8169)"
Typing ifconfig at open konsole as admin.
I am getting
Link ncap: Local loopback
inet addr: 127.0.0.1 Mask 255.0.0

Check what chipset the network card has by running a terminal and entering
Code:/sbin/lspci | grep -i net
