Could I remaster Mandriva (all open-source software one) by copying the live dvd's contents, modifying it to how I want, then just turning it back into an ISO file?...

Remastering Mandriva
Could I remaster Mandriva (all open-source software one) by copying the live dvd's contents, modifying it to how I want, then just turning it back into an ISO file?

Good question. I haven't tried it myself, but I think Mandriva might be a tricky one to remaster/customise. The reason I say this is because it's very customised to start with (a lot of 'Mandriva specific' stuff on there).
I've just been reading up on this, and I heard that PCLinuxOS is a good bet for remastering. Please read this. Be careful though: the PCLinux remastering information is incomplete, but at least there's something to begin with.I am always doing that which I can not do, in order that I may learn how to do it. - Pablo Picasso
