It's better to use a Mandriva RPM for installing if possible. I'd try to install Firefox3 using URPMI, or look around online for a Mandriva RPM to download and install from that.
Otherwise, you can simply unpack the tarball and double click on the firefox file within the firefox folder to run FF3 right from within your /home directory.oz

I did as he said for Firefox 3.5, but there is only one problem, he didn't tell you how to do it so that the software can be used by any user i.e. global installation.
