    not sure about how mandriva works precisely, but my first guess would be to type dhcpcd eth0 at the command line. (Provided that eth0 is your network card.) Knowing mandrive, they probably have something automatic and delicious in the control centre as well. Give that a shot.

    What is your setup? Do you have a network card connected to a router, or a modem? What is the model of the network card? Is it set up correctly ie. do you have the necessary drivers?
