    mandriva sound problem


    hi guys
    i installed mandriva 2008 spring edition on my pc
    the config of pc is intel 946giz motherboard onboard hda audio card

    the problem is that there is a constant disturbance in the sound
    im able to hear whatever i play but there is a constant background disturbance

    tell me wat to do

    Hi - what does the disturbance sound like? This might be hard to describe on here, but it could help us answer. For example, is it a high pitched whistling noise, like feedback?

    It's possible that one of your audio channels is turned up too far. Which sound system are you using? ALSA is a good one to try, and if you are using this you might consider opening Kmix (available from your list of applications) and lowering some of the channel settings.
