[SOLVED] hissing sound when running mandriva
Hi all,
I've installed Mandriva 2008.1 in my Dell Vostro 1400 laptop along with Vista. My experience with Mandriva has generally been good so for except the below query.
I hear strange noise (hissing noise) when running Mandriva, which I have never heard before while running either Windows or other distros. Its something like a gas leak. I have observed that it starts with the starting of 'udev'. What it could be. The hardware is standard Vostro-1400 hardware-I don't know the details. Has anybody experienced the same.
I'm suspicious of this noise as I think its not normal. The performance of the system has not been affected till now though. Kindly help.

Hello - this thread should help. It probably just means one of your audio channels is turned up too high.
