    Cannot write to folder?

I am trying to following the HOWTO tutorial of installing and compiling from source, and i cannot write ,or save to the directory /usr/local/src , when i change to that directory and i try to download from there via command line with the WGET utility ,it says permission denied.

After that i try KDESU WGET ,enter the password of root and nothing happens ,it stays stuck for ages.

Any idea how to change permissions to that folder, because i need it to compile ,cause the file i try to build has all the files in /src/xxx ?
I have had a 360 ,but it got the RROD
No more XBOX, i turned PS3
I had it for months ,it still amazes me!

Never seen a bigger failure of MICROSOFT then the XBOX 360!

Ignore that path in the tutorial. I've updated it. You should never need to compile source using root user; only use that for installing the source you've compiled.
