KMix crashes on startup
I literally can't get KMix to run and, as a result, there's no sound on my computer. This is, as you might imagine, a bit annoying. When I try to run KMix on Mandrake 10, I get the KDE Crash Manager popping uip and telling me that KMix has crashed and sent the signal 8. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Instead of running KMix, try using ALSA. I've heard others having this problem, but KMix isn't required. Can you get sound in another Window Manager (i.e, Gnome)?
