[SOLVED] What a disaster. Screen stays black
I have installed and used Mandriva Spring 2008 edition. All runs very well. I have tried the Compiz 3D which is Ok. I then tried the other 3 D option and calamity. No screen. Everything just stays black. Is there a way back to the standard screen working blind or do I have to load everything again ?

I don't ever run it but think you can probably get back to a standard video output if you simply delete the compiz configuration folders:
...then restart the xserver.~/.compizconfig
~/.compiz
Maybe someone that runs it will provide a better answer.
Let us know how it goes.oz

Thanls for your suggestion. I did a bit of poking around and found the answer. Boot into a safe mode version and at the terminal type drak3d. This clears the 3d options and returns it to the normal screen. All is now well and thank you for your response.
