Mandrake 10 does not come with the required libraries, so I did have to install the libraries that they provide on the above site. After I did that, everything installed and worked great.

The only problem I am having right now is figuring out how to print with my printer.
If anyone has any suggestions, let me know. If not, I will post what I figure out here.
As of right now, I am going to transfer the WordPerfect files to my WIndows machine and print them there. Annoying, but it will work until I figure out how to print on my Linux machine.
If anyone is running Mandrake 10, and is having trouble installing wp8, reply to this post, and I will do what I can to help you.

on second thought
On second thought, I am not going to worry about printing through WordPerfect.
I installed WP because the place I am sending certain documents to requires that they be in WordPerfect format.
For my personal printing purposes, such as proofreading, I can just save a given file in .rtf format and then open it up with OpenOffice.
