Webcam Configuration
I am using Mandriva 2009 in my laptop Compaq C797VU which has a integrated Webcam on the top of screen. Under hardware detection the webcam shown as Webcam - 101, but does not work. How to configure it to work. Is special driver to be installed ? I dont know how to configure it ? Can any one help ?

what software are you trying to use with it? It's not going to function in some that you might have used in Windows or Mac (such as AIM, MSN Messenger, ichat), try installing Skype and see if you can get it to function (go to preferences, video, test). If this doesn't work install camorama and see if that functions at all.

I have a similar problem.
I also use Mandriva 2009, and have a Chicony webcam built into my laptop.
The hardware configuration recognizes it, but I can't use it.
I installed Camorama, but it said that it could not connect to the device.
