    WTF is the error message?

    I am completely new to Linux. I have mandrake 9.2. I know nothing about linux but i got lucky one time and found out how to login. But then i got a message.

    "Authentication software cannot retrieve authentication info."

    W.T.F. can anyone tell me how the in the hell can i get past this.

    sounds like you have files that either: a. don't exist b. have permission issues. have you tried logging in as root?
