how to speed up konqueror?
Hey guys,
It's been a while since I've posted, but I know you guys have been a great resource for me, so I thought I'd post this and see you could bail me out one more time.
The problem is Konqueror. I've been using Firefox 3 and have come to believe to its a total hog on my resources and the browsing is really slow. I want to switch over to konqueror full time, but have found its even slower than FF.
I did do some leg work and found out I need to deactivate IPV6. I've read a lot of threads, but none have really told me, in a step by step manner, how to do it.
Thus, I was wondering if anybody had any good directions on how to do this properly. I tried to find something in previous posts, but couldn't find anything in the archive.
Here's the specs I'm running:
KDE 3.5.4
Madriva Free Edition 2007
Do you need to know anything other than this?
Thanks again,
K

You could try adding the following line to your /etc/modprobe.conf file:
I can't think of anything else to speed up Konqueror because it's usually pretty fast anyway.Code:alias net-pf-10 off
oz
